The beauty of this litany communicates the beauty of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic faith of the One Christian Church.
This beauty is of the essence of the Church. The Church is made of the saints on earth and the saints in heaven.
The saints on earth are the visible church and the saints in heaven are the invisible church. The visible church is
the fellowship of believers now ( living) and the invisible church is the fellowship of believers before (living after death).
The 12th Chapter of Hebrews expresses it so well saying that we are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses, namely, the believers
who have already been here, have run the race of faith, have finished their tracking on earth, and are now gathered to the
heavenly place.
Saint Paul says that these saints are witnesses. They witnessed and testified to Jesus as Lord of their life during
the time of their earthly journey and now they cheer on the believers of our time as we run the race and finish the course
of faith left to us.
When a Christian listens to and prays the Litany of Saints it is both a humbling and a uplifting event.
It is humbling because it makes real to the believer the faith of millions of people for millenia before now. It
humbles us to consciously acknowledge the lives, the faith and the loyalty of those who have traveled this way before
us.
It uplifts because as we pray this serial prayer we are lifted up by the Holy Spirit with profound spiritual energy.
The Holy Spirit comes to us and lifts up our prayers with sighs and groans not utterable so that God Almighty hears and
listens to our prayer.

Jesus prayed for us |
We need to pray like Jesus prayed
|
We pray in unity with the Holy Spirit.
Father, bless the one holy catholic and apostolic church. Father also
bless our efforts to break through the barriers that keep one christian faith group apart from another.
