The God of the bible reveals that he is powerful beyond belief. Yet, God
also reveals that he will not force people to do what they do not want to do.
God gave us freedom of will and freedom of decision and freedom of action.
We can do whatever we want to do.
But there are consequences to this freedom. The consequence of our freedom
of will, decision and action is that we must live with the effects of our free will.
In science there is a statement that "for every action there is a re action."
In the world that God created this rule applies to things and it applies to people
and the organizations, societies and governments created by people.
Not only is there a re action for each action but we also know from science that
there are "orders of effect." The orders of effect are like circles in a pond that move out from the spot into
which we threw the rock.
These orders of effect are several layers deep and in human terms can effect
the behaviors of generations of people for hundreds of years.
So How Does God Use Us?
God uses us for the actual doing of the good that God wants to achieve in our
world. God's will for us is our success. Put another way, God's will is our good.
However, God requires that we want to have the good that God wants to give to
us.
Therefore, God requires that our will, our decisions and our actions be oriented
toward the accomplishment of the good that God wants us to achieve.
This orientation toward the good is accomplished through our intentional
willingness to be alert to God in our world and our voluntary awareness of the movement of the Holy Spirit in our world.
